Arranging visits and appointments

Routine calls can be arranged by telephoning the office during normal office hours. When doing so please provide accurate directions to where the horse is kept and a mobile phone number so that you can be easily contacted.

Free Visit Scheme

We run a scheme whereby we offer free visits for pre-booked routine work such as vaccinations, examinations and teeth rasping. The latest time you can book a free zone visit is 12pm the day before your free zone day. However, as the days fill up very quickly, we would ask you to give as much notice as you can. We will then contact you between 2pm and 4pm the day before your visit with an approximate time. Should an emergency occur and the vet is delayed, we will do all we can to contact you and advise you of this. We do ask for payment at the time on the free visit scheme.

Somerford Park Clinic

Should your horse require more complex care than we can provide in your home environment, we may advise referral to our tier 2 RCVS approved equine clinic at Somerford Park.

Our facilities include:

Two large treatment rooms with bespoke flooring and stocks in each room.

A dedicated theatre with two recovery boxes.

A laboratory for the processing of regenerative medicine products from bone marrow and blood for orthopaedic case samples and running blood cell and worm egg counts.

A comfortable waiting area adjacent to a consulting room to allow us to talk through your horses' medical issues with you.

Large and airy Monarch stables.  We have day patient boxes on the outside of the clinic and a separate in-patient area inside the clinic.


Dental Clinics

Mark Tabachnik and Nic Harries are both qualified Equine Dental Technicians. As such we feel we are perfectly placed to provide your horse with all his dental healthcare requirements, from routine rasping to more complex corrections and extractions. We also deal with referrals from vets and other equine dental technicians.

We can run regular dental days on client's yards. We do yard dental visits where clients with 5 or more horses do not pay a visit charge. This can be arranged via the office. Please see our Equine Dentistry download for more information.


Worming your horse is an essential part of maintaining its health. Many owners use regular worming throughout the year to control the levels of worms in their horse’s gut. We offer a variety of worm control options, checks and worming. The cost of a worm check is about £10 and groups of 10 or more will receive a 10% discount. Reproduction services

We offer a wide range of reproduction services; pre-breeding examinations; mare management; artificial insemination; pregnancy diagnosis; in-foal mare management; detection of reduced fertility in the mare; and post foaling checks. See our Reproduction Services download for further information.


At Wright & Morten we can provide a number of Horse Insurance options, removing an element of financial burden. Please see our Insurance Matters download of further information on policies.


In an emergency, please call 0845 8330034, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is helpful when you ring to provide the following information: owner’s name, location of horse, details of the problem and full contact details. Emergency veterinary care outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday carries an out of hours surcharge.

Telephone Advice

If you require advice from a veterinary surgeon, please contact the office who will take your details. A vet will call you back when free. Alternatively, they may give you the vet’s mobile phone number if appropriate.


Our accounts are processed on the 1st of every month and payment is requested within 28 days. Payments can be made by cash, cheques, debit and major credit cards, but unfortunately we cannot accept American Express. Failure to settle your account within the required period will result in administrative surcharges.
